The teapot  is certainly the centrepiece of every afternoon tea table, but some of our offerings have proven tried and true favourites: Madras Curry shortbread, Lavender shortbread, sharp cheddar cheese and mango chutney sandwiches (adapted from the menu of a children’s afternoon tea in Victorian times) and our wide assortment of butter biscuits ‘spiked’ with lemon zest and crushed black pepper; or with lime zest; or with chocolate and cayenne.

Over the course of the next several weeks, our blog will feature some historical nugget, or two, about these and other afternoon tea offerings.  Please leave a comment and share your nuggets – historical or otherwise! – about afternoon tea.
